Wyoming and Nebraska Direct Feeder Cattle Summary

Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 09/08/2017

Receipts: 542      Week Ago: 1,897     Year Ago: 615  

   Compared to last week heifers sold steady to firm on a very thin test. 
Demand was light in early week trading with good demand late in the week 
after the CME board traded higher on Thursday. This upward movement 
prompted buyers to jump out and procure some direct cattle. Slaughter 
steer and heifer trading remains at a standstill at time of this report. 
Direct prices are current FOB with a 2-3 percent shrink or equivalent and 
with a 10-15 cent slide on calves and 8-10 cent slide on yearlings from 
base weight. Delivered prices include freight, commissions and other 
expenses. Current sales are up to 14 days delivery. Receipts this week 
included 25 percent heifers with 37 percent weighing over 600 lbs. 


     Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: Future delivery: 450 lbs 190.00 
Oct. Delivered Price: 875 lbs 150.25. 

     Feeder Heifers Medium and Large 1: FOB: 750 lbs 144.09.
